The Only Collaborative Robot Truly ‘Made In India
Published on : Monday 01-08-2022
Since inception, Systemantics India has successfully deployed numerous advanced customised robotic solutions to government and private organisations.
Systemantics India Pvt Ltd is the only Indian company that has designed and developed collaborative robotic arms (Cobots) indigenously from the ground up with the end user’s primary needs in mind – reliability, affordability, ease of use, and local full-life rapid service and spares. The range of cobot models brought to the market reflects many years of innovative design and development experience and is competitive in specifications and functionality with all the imported models in the domestic market.
The product design and development phase were funded by angel investors and venture capital to facilitate the R&D of all the primary components of the cobot and to set up a predictable supply chain.
A brief history
Since the early 1980s, the global automotive industry has adopted robotic arms for automating critical processes like welding and painting for quality that could not be achieved by human skill or strength. The Indian automotive sector followed this trend much later but at a lower scale due to the high capital cost of robotics-based automation and low labour costs. Affordability remains a significant factor, as all the robotic arms sold in India are imported, and there is no domestic manufacturer of robotic arms.
The introduction of a new category of robotic arms referred to as ‘collaborative’ robotic arms (Cobots) witnessed a very significant shift in the robotics space that offered better safety and ease of use for many applications. This triggered an expansion of the use of cobots outside the conventional industrial manufacturing space into many other sectors driving a CAGR of close to 50% for the past few years and growth beyond a US$10 billion market in the near future.
Since inception, our focus has been on robotics; we have successfully deployed numerous advanced customised robotic solutions to government and private organisations prior to shifting our focus to developing a product in the robotics domain.
About the Founder
As Systemantics’s Founder and Chief Technical Officer, Dr Jagannath Raju is responsible for the company’s product development and technology strategy.
His consulting experience in the USA includes the development of innovative robotic systems for space, underwater, and hazardous applications for projects funded by NASA, the Federal Sea Grant Program, the Department of Energy, and the National Science Foundation.
Dr Jagannath Raju is a B Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and holds a master’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, CA, USA and Master’s & Doctoral degrees from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, USA.
Philosophy of ‘sensible robotics’
Built on the principles of ‘Sensible Robotics’, the ASYSTR C series is a single platform that allows for easy configuration to fit multiple applications and adapt to any shop floor.
Sensible Investment
Innovative design from a component level to the overall product architecture reduces the manufacturing cost translating to the product’s overall affordability and thus reducing the RoI.
Sensible for Reliability
Standardised parts across the models and fewer moving parts ensure a reliable and robust industrial product.
Sensible to Service
Integrated controller and DIN rail mountable I/O boards help customers reduce the cabling fatigue and thus reducing the time required to identify failure points. In addition, the intelligent self-diagnosing capability of the cobot makes it easier to recognise and report precise errors leading to a lower service turnaround time. Finally, the in-house design ensures long-term availability of spares along with a local service support.
Sensible Usage
Maintaining skilled resources to operate and maintain robotic arms has been one of the main barriers to robotic automation adoption. With a very intuitive graphical user interface on the android platform, we address this problem by eliminating the need for any coding language for robot programming
Give your business the competitive edge
The ASYSTR C-series collaborative robotic arms will offer domestic medium and small-scale industries affordable cobotics-based automation with local support, service and spares. This can enable upskilling of their current workforce from repetitive, mentally, and physically fatiguing work to more productive and remunerative tasks that contribute to growth driven by competitive advantage and adoption of the latest technologies.
In addition to the standard industrial applications, our cobots will also service numerous emerging applications in mobility platforms, e-commerce warehouses, cloud kitchens, greenhouse farming, quick service food kiosks, lab automation, and many more.
