Revolutionizing bulk material measurement, the EIP Model ULM 3D-5 is the world’s first and only 5-beam 3D radar level transmitter. Designed for silos and bunkers, it delivers unmatched precision in level, volume, mass, and real-time 3D profiling—even in the harshest industrial conditions—without the need for air purge or maintenance.
The 5-beam 3D radar level transmitter is ideal for level, volume, mass and 3D profile of silos and bunkers.
3D Radar Level Transmitters are devices that use radar technology to measure the level, volume, and mass of materials inside silos, bunkers, or other storage containers, and also provide a real-time 3D profile of the material. These transmitters use multiple radar beams to cover the entire area, offering more accurate and comprehensive measurements than traditional 2D radar systems.
The EIP 3D radar level transmitter, Model ULM 3D-5, is the first and only 5-beam radar level transmitter which covers the silo/bunker at multiple points to provide an average level, maximum level, minimum level, volume, mass and real time 3D profile of the material stored inside the silo/bunker. Having an operating frequency of 140 GHz, which is the world's highest operating frequency, it works under the most extreme and harsh conditions. Working on an adaptive FFT, the 3D radar offers an unparalleled user experience just like a camera installed inside a silo working in duty atmosphere and providing inventory. Additionally, this 5-beam radar level transmitter does not require any air purge for cleaning, as being a very high frequency and high power the radar beam is able to penetrate the dust and works even if some material sticks to the antenna of the 3D radar.
Key features and functionality
Multi-beam radar: These transmitters utilise multiple radar beams (e.g., 5 beams) to scan different points within the container, providing a more complete view of the material profile.
Accurate level, volume, and mass measurement: By analysing the reflected radar signals, the transmitter can accurately determine the level, volume, and mass of the material inside the container.
Real-time 3D profile: The data from the multiple beams is processed to create a real-time 3D profile of the material, providing a visual representation of its shape and distribution.
It may be noted that the solids/iron ore fines pose 3 unique challenges for level measurement:
1. Uneven profile due to angle of repose
2. Heavy dust, and
3. Maintenance.
