Lohum Cleantech, founded in 2018 and based in Greater Noida, India, is a leading climate-tech company specializing in lithium-ion battery manufacturing, recycling, and second-life applications. It produces advanced lithium-ion battery packs and recycles end-of-life batteries to recover high-purity materials like lithium, cobalt, nickel, and graphite using its proprietary NEETM™ technology, which yields zero waste. Lohum also repurposes batteries for second-life applications, such as energy storage and low-power e-mobility, and refines cathode active material (CAM) with low-carbon methods. Operating eight facilities, including India’s largest lithium and cobalt refineries, Lohum commands a 90% share of integrated lithium-ion battery recycling in India. With partnerships like Mercedes-Benz Energy and a $30 million US joint venture with ReElement Technologies and American Metals, Lohum aims to expand globally, targeting a 5x capacity increase to 25-30 GWh by 2027 and an IPO by 2027.
