TransGP, officially the InnoHK Centre for Transformative Garment Production, is a pioneering research and innovation center dedicated to revolutionizing garment manufacturing through advanced AI and robotics technologies. Collaboratively established by The University of Hong Kong and Tohoku University under the InnoHK initiative, TransGP develops flexible automation solutions that address key challenges in handling deformable materials, enabling fixtureless 2D/3D sewing, precise positioning, folding, and packaging. Its breakthroughs in AI-driven robotic systems enhance production efficiency, quality control, and worker safety, bridging academic research with industry adoption for customized, high-volume garment production. Serving the global textile and apparel sector, TransGP has commercialized technologies like SewingDX, PALGRIP, and FlexAI, supporting smart factories and sustainable manufacturing. Key achievements include multiple innovations in robotic sewing showcased at industry events, strategic partnerships for commercialization, and contributions to Industry 4.0 in apparel through proprietary AI vision and gripping systems.
