Worn Again Technologies, founded in 2005, is a UK-based technology licensing company headquartered in Nottingham, specializing in chemical textile-to-textile recycling. Its patented polymer recycling process separates, decontaminates, and extracts polyester (PET) and cellulose from mixed and end-of-life textiles, producing virgin-quality recycled PET pellets and cellulose pulp. The technology processes polycotton blends, removes dyes and contaminants, and supports a circular economy by reintroducing materials into the textile supply chain. Worn Again has raised £30 million from investors like H&M, Kering, and Sulzer Chemtech, with a demo plant in Switzerland and R&D facilities in Nottingham. Its Textile-to-Fiber Accelerator processes 200kg batches, validated by a pilot plant handling 5kg batches.
