Desktop Engineering
POSITION PURPOSE
Engineer, End-User Technology will be responsible to ensure efficient and secure operations well as evaluating and recommending computer life cycle, support, standard hardware models and standard application versions for environments including; Altiris and Microsoft System Center end-user management tools. Deliver support to end users in the organization by providing scalable, global management systems. Manage and report on global end user hardware and software inventory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Excellent experience in Endpoint Windows Operating system (7, 8 & 10).
2. Good exposure on Laptop and desktop hardware installation and configuration.
3. Experienced - Office 365 client configuration and migration.
4. Experienced in AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and troubleshooting skills.
5. Troubleshooting of Local and Network printers.
6. Knowledge of Antivirus Installation and troubleshooting at client and server.
7. VPN client configuration and troubleshooting.
8. Configuration and troubleshooting endpoint LAN and Wi-Fi.
9. Experienced in Microsoft SCCM packaging, integration, deployment, and troubleshooting packaged applications.
10. Experienced SCCM Patching, Application deployments, Application upgrade & image management.
11. Manage the client workstation environment using all available enterprise tools.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE
Applies extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Working knowledge of Windows, System Center, PowerShell, Other Scripting tools and inventory management software. General knowledge of Computing, Networking and Disaster Recovery. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative
Environment. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Required experience in all of the following environments to administer and optimize.
IT Infrastructure landscape and architecture design
Windows Server and Active Directory
Microsoft System Center

SUPERVISION
Position functions semi-autonomously.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Minimum of a Bachelors degree (or equivalent) and 4-5 years of relevant experience. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
Experience with the following is required:
Enterprise client management suites (Microsoft SCCM, Altiris, LANDesk, SMS, or similar)
SQL installation, troubleshooting and queries
Batch file and VB script creation and maintenance
Microsoft Windows server and desktop operating systems
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
None required. Microsoft certifications such as MCP or MCDST and/or Altiris certifications such as ACP or ACE are ideal.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret complex business and/or technical documents. Ability to write comprehensive reports and detailed business correspondence. Ability to work with groups of people such as other departments and communicate known concepts. Ability to present to a group of departments.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve problems with a variety of concrete variable through semi-standardized solutions that require some ingenuity and analysis. Ability to draw inferences and follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve moderately complex problems.
