Emerson’s new tank monitoring hub optimises inventory management
Emerson’s Rosemount 2405 Monitoring Hub offers a centralized, automated system for tank inventory management, integrating level, pressure, and temperature data from up to eight transmitters. This simplifies installation, cuts wiring costs, and provides real-time insights to optimize inventory, reduce operational costs, and support proactive maintenance across multiple industries.

Rosemount 2405 provides real-time inventory insights with integrated features to simplify use, free up data and reduce costs.
Emerson has launched the Rosemount 2405 Monitoring Hub, an automated system designed to replace manual tank inventory checks in chemical processing, oil refining, and bulk storage operations. The device centralizes data from up to eight storage tanks into a single interface, addressing industry challenges around monitoring complexity and operational costs.
Integrated Design Reduces Installation Complexity
The Rosemount 2405 combines a display unit, communication module, and data concentrator into one hub. It supports up to eight HART-enabled level, pressure, or temperature transmitters through digital multidrop connectivity—eliminating junction boxes and multiple input channels required in traditional system architecture.
The consolidated design reduces wiring costs and installation time while allowing facilities to retrofit existing transmitter networks without replacing field instruments.
Real-Time Access and System Integration
The hub integrates with Emerson's Rosemount TankMaster inventory management platform and third-party host systems. Operators can view tank levels, pressure readings, and device diagnostics on-site or remotely through web browser access, supporting proactive maintenance strategies across chemicals, refining, oil and gas, metals and mining, and food and beverage sectors.
"Operators need immediate access to accurate inventory information for production scheduling and safety protocols," said Mikael Inglund, director of product management at Emerson. "The Rosemount 2405 consolidates data previously scattered across multiple devices, providing unified storage tank monitoring that supports faster decision-making."
The system features guided configuration workflows that reduce training requirements and accelerate deployment timelines for industrial monitoring equipment.
