Mumbai, October 8, 2026: Epsilon Carbon Pvt Ltd, a global producer of carbon black and specialty carbon products, has released its 6th Sustainability Report for FY 2025–26, titled "Anchored in Carbon. Embedded in Circularity". The report presents the company's progress in emissions reduction, energy efficiency, workplace safety, inclusion and community development, while outlining its approach to building a more responsible and resilient carbon value chain.
Epsilon Carbon's sustainability program is closely connected to the way it operates its manufacturing facilities and supports customers across the tyre, rubber, manufacturing and industrial sectors. The company is focused on delivering reliable carbon materials while improving resource efficiency and reducing the environmental impact of production.
During FY 2025-26, Epsilon Carbon achieved a 98% reduction in Scope 2 emissions intensity compared with its FY 2022-23 baseline. The company also reduced its energy consumption intensity by 6% through improvements in operational efficiency.
Its 17 MW captive power plant, which operates using waste hot gases generated during production, remained central to the company's decarbonization efforts During the year, Epsilon Carbon achieved 77% utilisation of waste heat recovery, remaining on track against its target and helping avoid more than 89,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions by reducing reliance on coal-based power.
The company also achieved an 8.13% reduction in Scope 3 emissions intensity compared with FY 2024-25. This work forms part of Epsilon Carbon's broader effort to improve performance across its value chain and support more sustainable manufacturing for its customers.
Epsilon Carbon's Vijayanagar plant has an annual capacity of 215,000 tons of carbon black and 500,000 tons per annum of specialty carbon capacity. These capabilities enable the company to serve a broad range of applications across tyres, rubber products, manufacturing and other high-performance industrial sectors.
The report also details Epsilon Carbon's work to create a safer and more inclusive workplace. The company recorded zero fatalities with women representation of 10% in the Board and 9.41% of overall workforce during the year.
Through its CSR programs, Epsilon Carbon positively impacted approximately 140,000 lives, supporting community development and social progress in the areas connected to its operations.
