Espelkamp, 23 April 2024 --- HARTING is presenting a new T1 Industrial Dual Port device socket as a concept study at the Hannover Trade Fair. This socket combines two 360° screened single pair Ethernet ports for compact, future IoT devices.

A good 50 percent more compact than traditional RJ45 ports, the T1 Dual Port effectively supports the miniaturisation of modern automation devices, offering data rates of up to 10 Gbit/s in a rugged design in accordance with IEC 63171-6.

Integrated status lamps, shield fingers and their modular, expandable design represent clear plus points for smart SPE interfaces in next-generation IoT devices. Ethernet connectivity with reduced dimensions is an important component for intelligent networks from the cloud to field level. In this way, Single Pair Ethernet is enabling real-time communication for sensors, actuators and miniaturised devices via UPC UA/TSN with data rates of up to 10 Gbit/s or transmission lengths of up to 1,000 metres (10 Mbit/s).
