HMS Networks Expands N-Tron Series With New Unmanaged Ethernet Switches for Harsh Industrial Environments
HMS Networks has launched three new N-Tron unmanaged Ethernet switches—NT110-FX2, NT111-FX3, and NT112-FX4—designed for harsh industrial environments. Featuring 8 copper RJ45 ports plus 2-4 fiber ports, rugged metal enclosures, -40°C to 85°C operation, and full wire-speed performance, these switches ensure reliable connectivity for data acquisition, process control, and mission-critical applications in oil & gas, utilities, and factory automation.

The new N-Tron® NT110-FX2, NT113-FX3 and NT112-FX4 switches provide unmatched performance and reliability in harsh industrial environments.
HMS Networks, a global provider of innovative technologies that enable industrial organisations to connect, control, and visualise critical data, has introduced three new unmanaged Ethernet switches for high-demand industrial applications: the N-Tron NT110-FX2 with two fiber ports, NT111-FX3 with three fiber ports, and NT112-FX4 with four fiber ports. These new models extend the N-Tron unmanaged switch lineup and are engineered for mission-critical operations requiring dependable network resilience in challenging environments.
Compact, Rugged Switches Designed for Mission-Critical Data Operations
The new NT100 unmanaged series is built for applications such as data acquisition, Ethernet I/O, and process control—where reliability and uptime are essential. Each model integrates eight 10/100BaseTX RJ45 copper ports paired with 2, 3, or 4 100BaseFX fiber ports.
Industrial-Grade Hardware Features
Rugged metal enclosure
High shock and vibration tolerance
ESD and surge protection on all RJ45 ports
SC or ST fiber connectors (multimode or singlemode)
Robust 1.2M-hour MTBF rating
Wide operating temperature: –40°C to 85°C
Slim, space-efficient form factor
Full Wire-Speed Performance for High-Demand Environments
All three models—NT110-FX2, NT111-FX3, and NT112-FX4—deliver full wire-speed communication using store-and-forward switching with support for full/half duplex operation. Dual 10–49 VDC power inputs provide power redundancy, ensuring uninterrupted performance in sectors such as oil and gas, transportation, utilities, factory automation, and intelligent traffic control.
The new switches complement the flagship NT116 16-port copper unmanaged switch introduced in 2024, marking the latest advancement in N-Tron’s unmanaged Ethernet switch series.
Certified for Harsh and Hazardous Environments
The NT100 series carries major global industrial certifications, including UL Ordinary and Hazardous Locations, ATEX, IECEx, and IEEE 802.3 compliance. Additional marine, railway, and rolling stock certifications position the switches for deployment across critical infrastructure industries.
Supporting Industrial Organisations With Reliable, Rugged Connectivity
With hardened designs and robust fiber-copper configurations, the NT100 series enables industrial organisations to gather and transmit critical performance data seamlessly across manufacturing, energy, water treatment, rail, and transportation networks.
“For decades, N-Tron has stood for ruggedness, reliability and ease of use. The NT100 series continues that tradition, delivering durable switches that thrive in extreme environments, maintain rock-solid uptime, and are simple to deploy. Designed with the needs of machine builders and OEMs in mind – while serving the broader demands of industrial applications – the NT100 series is ready to keep critical operations running in any environment,” said Barry Turner, N-Tron Product Manager.
