RIYADH, January 28, 2026Nextpower Arabia, the newly launched joint venture between Nextpower (formerly Nextracker) and Abunayyan Holding, has secured a landmark contract to supply 2.25 gigawatts (GWp) of advanced solar tracking systems. The order was placed by Larsen & Toubro (L&T) for the Bisha Solar project, a massive utility-scale development in Saudi Arabia's Asir Province.

The Bisha Solar project is being developed by a consortium led by ACWA Power and was procured by the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC). It represents the largest award under Wave 6 of the Kingdom’s National Renewable Energy Program (NREP).

Localized Manufacturing and Saudi Vision 2030

This 2.25 GWp order is the first major project for Nextpower Arabia since becoming fully operational. By localizing sales, manufacturing, and supply chain capabilities within the Kingdom, the venture directly supports the Saudi National Industrialization Strategy and the broader Vision 2030 decarbonization goals.

Industry Perspectives on the 2.25 GW Milestone

  • Bharathi Kumar, GM (Renewable International), L&T: "We have tremendous confidence in Nextpower Arabia’s utility-grade solutions. Localized production will deliver greater efficiencies and reduce the environmental impact of international shipping."

  • Dan Shugar, Founder and CEO, Nextpower: "The MENA region is a top strategic priority. This project marks an important milestone for our new joint venture and builds on our long-standing partnership with ACWA Power and L&T."

  • Turki Al-Amri, CEO of Nextpower Arabia: "By manufacturing these systems in the Kingdom, we are advancing Saudi's industrial goals while delivering a localized solar supply chain that benefits all development partners."

Nextpower’s Growing MENA Footprint

Nextpower has a decade-long track record in the Middle East, starting with the 405 MW Sakaka Solar Park in 2018. With the Bisha project, Nextpower’s regional portfolio now exceeds 6 GW, solidifying its position as the leading provider of intelligent solar plant technologies in the MENA region.
