Connection Solution for Ribbon Cables, har-flex Board IDC
The har-flex® Board IDC from HARTING is a compact and ultra-flat board-to-board connection solution designed for ribbon cable applications in space-constrained electronic devices. Featuring a detachable connector on one side and a permanently PCB-mounted connection on the other, it enables flexible PCB spacing and supports contact counts from 6 to 50 poles. With optional strain relief for enhanced reliability, easy assembly options, and simplified replacement of device sub-assemblies, the har-flex® Board IDC helps reduce component costs, minimize design complexity, and optimize space utilization in modern electronic systems.

The perfect flat connection solution for ribbon cables – complements the previous har-flex® ribbon cable solution.
har-flex® Board IDC is the new compact and especially flat board-to-board connection solution for ribbon cables from HARTING. It complements the previous har-flex® ribbon cable solution with two detachable connectors.
The new har-flex® Board IDC version features a detachable connector on one side with the other end of the cable permanently fixed to the PCB on the other. This permanently connected end excels on account of its especially low height, for deployment in compact devices with limited installation space. Optional strain relief provides the necessary strength and reliability when it comes to movements or vibration in demanding applications.
Like all har-flex® series models, the Board IDC version is also flexibly available in all numbers of poles from 6-50. It can either be assembled with the aid of a hand-held tool (6-16 poles) or automatically with the aid of a pressing machine.
The har-flex® Board IDC supports flexible, compact designs for any PCB spacing for stepless numbers of contacts from 6-50. This means that users do not have to buy more contacts and incorporate them in the device design than required for the actual application.
Users receive an optimal solution for the simple replacement of specific sub-assemblies in devices – including during services. Lower costs thanks to fewer components, fewer precious metals and less complexity underline the advantages of the new har-flex® version.
