As industrial automation continues its shift toward modular, distributed architectures, the limitations of centralised control cabinet-based power supply systems become increasingly evident – long cable runs, oversized power ratings, and inflexible layouts. PULS addresses this directly with FIEPOS, a dedicated family of decentralised Field Power Supplies designed to be installed at the point of load, directly on or near the machine.

FIEPOS – short for Field Power Supply – is available with IP54, IP65, and IP67 ingress protection ratings, making it suitable for deployment in demanding environments where exposure to dust, moisture, and splashing water is routine. The compact housing (182 × 183 × 56 mm, approximately 1,200 g) supports wall, panel, and DIN rail mounting, eliminating the need for additional accessories.

The family offers two series. The Basic series provides a single high-power DC output at 360 W or 600 W, supporting both 1-phase and 3-phase input configurations. The eFused series extends this with up to four electronically protected, current-limited DC outputs – enabling selective power distribution and fault isolation directly in the field, without a separate protection module. Both series deliver an efficiency of greater than 95% and can sustain 200% output power for 5 seconds to handle inrush demands. The FIEPOS will soon be available in variants ranging from 100 W to 1400 W supporting a wide range of applications.

Monitoring and configuration are available locally via an LED interface and push buttons, or remotely via IO-Link — providing real-time data on voltage, current, temperature, and fault status. Operating temperature range spans -25 °C to +70 °C.

FIEPOS was recognised as Product of the Year 2021 by Computer & Automation magazine and received the Manufacturing Leadership Award 2021 – underscoring the engineering merit behind the design.
