Phase monitor protects against damage
Published by : Industrial Automation
By monitoring three-phase systems for under-/overvoltage, phase sequence, asymmetry or power failure, plant components can be protected against damage.
Reliability and availability are one of the most important requirements in plant and machine construction. In order to avoid machine failures, downtimes and repairs, which can be caused, for example, by damage to the control electronics due to power fluctuations, the multifunctional phase monitor BD 9080/003 of the VARIMETER PRO series from DOLD offers several monitoring options.
Without a separate auxiliary voltage, the phase monitor BD 9080/003 monitors undervolt-age/overvoltage up to max. 3 AC 1000 V, the voltage symmetry of the phases, phase failure and phase sequence in three-phase mains. The response delay can be set from 0.1 to 30 sec. The start-up delay time is permanently set to 30 sec and is effective once after the operating voltage is applied. The user-friendly device configuration allows an optimal adaptation to your application. The phase monitor is versatile and protects, e.g., against motor damage in case of phase asymmetry or phase failure. A further area of application is the protection of persons and equipment in case of a reversal of the direction of rotation in the area of application of conveyor systems.
