Flexible Couplings – Fast on the move
Published on : Monday 20-01-2020
For use in special high-speed test stands torsionally rigid, flexible couplings are ideally suited. The thin metal bellows have in addition to the balancing, also vibration-damping properties. The high flexibility of the KSD couplings from Jakob with its 6-wave bellows and the easy mounting option of the coupling through the use of cone bushes as shaft-hub connection guarantee a safe transmission of all forces and torques, even with small shaft diameters and without additional feather key, The rotationally symmetric design ensures excellent, dynamic operating behaviour, even at very high speeds. The high torsional rigidity and the very low restoring forces with shaft misalignment as well as the low moment of inertia characterise the coupling type. Torques from 10 to 4000 Nm are possible. Highest quality processing and the materials used make the KSD couplings a reliable and economical component.
It is used, in addition to the test stands as a highlighted example, also particularly often in servo and actuators.
With more than 40 years experience, the Jakob Group is one of the leading suppliers of mechanical components for the servo drive industry. First, these couplings for drive technology and clamping elements for workpiece clamping set new standards in the market. JAKOB has not only adapted to these developments, but has played a central role in pushing these developments with new and innovative products.
