With 30 years of experience in cybersecurity and digital transformation, what inspired you to specialise in these fields and take on leadership roles across the APAC region?

Technology has always fascinated me – not just as an enabler, but as a force multiplier for business transformation. Cybersecurity, in particular, is the backbone of digital trust. Leading large-scale transformations across APAC allowed me to merge innovation with impact, ensuring organisations stay resilient in an increasingly complex threat landscape.

As the first female Co-Chair of the American Chamber of Commerce Cybersecurity Committee in Singapore, what motivated you to advocate for enhanced security policies?

Cyber threats do not respect borders, industries, or demographics. I took on this role to drive meaningful policy discussions, bridge public-private collaboration, and champion cybersecurity as a strategic imperative. Being the first woman in this position was an absolute privilege – I saw it as an opportunity to not only shape policies but also inspire more women to step into leadership roles in security.

You have managed a $150M+ P&L and led high-performing teams of 700+ professionals. Could you share some of the strategies you’ve implemented to achieve such exceptional results?

Success is built on three pillars: strategy, execution, and people. I focused on structuring a high-growth sales engine, diversifying revenue streams, and fostering a culture of accountability and innovation. Leveraging data-driven decision-making, strong partnerships, and a results-oriented approach ensured that we not only met but exceeded targets.

Your role in integrating generative AI and quantum-safe security into cybersecurity services has been groundbreaking. What challenges did you face during implementation, and how did you overcome them?

The biggest challenges were adoption resistance, regulatory uncertainty, and skill gaps. We tackled them by embedding AI into existing workflows rather than forcing a paradigm shift overnight. We also focused on education, stakeholder buy-in, and building regulatory-aligned frameworks to ensure seamless adoption. Quantumsafe security, in particular, required close collaboration with research institutions and industry leaders to stay ahead of emerging threats.

As a mentor and leader in the IBM Women’s Leadership Council, how have you inspired and empowered women in technology across APAC?

By leading with action, not just words. I have actively mentored women professionals, championed initiatives for leadership development, and advocated for inclusive hiring policies. Through structured mentorship, sponsorship, and visibility, I’ve helped women across APAC break barriers and take on influential roles in cybersecurity and technology.

You were awarded a patent for user-centric digital consent systems. Could you elaborate on its impact and how it addresses privacy challenges in the digital age?

Digital consent is often a one-sided, complex process that favours enterprises over users. Our patent ensures transparency, contextual awareness, and enhanced user control over their data. It directly addresses regulatory concerns like GDPR while making consent management intuitive, auditable, and user-friendly.

Named one of ‘Asia's Most Inspirational Women Business Leaders, 2024’, and honoured with multiple awards, what does this recognition mean to you and your career?

Recognition is humbling, but impact matters more. These accolades validate the work I have done to drive business transformation, foster innovation, and create opportunities for others. They reinforce my commitment to breaking new ground in cybersecurity while inspiring the next generation of leaders.

What is your vision for the future of cybersecurity, especially with emerging technologies like AI and quantum computing?

Cybersecurity will move from reactive to predictive, from compliance-driven to AI-powered resilience. AI will automate threat detection, and quantum-safe security will redefine cryptographic defences. The future demands adaptive, intelligence driven security frameworks that evolve in real-time. Organisations that embrace this shift will stay ahead; those that don’t will be left vulnerable.

What is your opinion on the role of Industrial Automation Magazine in showcasing industry trends and empowering women in technology and automation?

Magazines like Industrial Automation play a crucial role in shaping industry discourse. By spotlighting emerging trends and diverse voices, they help bridge the knowledge gap, celebrate innovation, and foster inclusivity. Amplifying women's contributions in technology is not just about visibility – it’s about rewriting the narrative for future generations.

What are the three words that best describe how it feels to be a finalist in the Women in Tech 2025 competition?

Inspire. Empower. Innovate.
