PPPA 2023 – Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Future
Published on : Thursday 23-02-2023
PPPA 2023 is scheduled from 24th-25th February 2023, at the CIDCO Exhibition & Convention Centre at Vashi, Navi Mumbai.
The Automation & Instrumentation sector has witnessed a formidable growth in recent years. With advancement of innovative technologies in process automation, we are on the verge of commencing a new era in Power and Petroleum Automation industry.
PPPA 2023, scheduled from 24th-25th February 2023, at the CIDCO Exhibition & Convention Centre at Vashi, Navi Mumbai, is a two-day Exhibition and Conference with focus on Emerging Technologies that will carve a sustainable future of Automation. It is a unique networking opportunity, with the opportunity to witness industry’s leading solution providers in Automation & Control, presenting never seen before technical presentations and exhibiting futuristic technologies in automation to create a congenial ecosystem that will be innovative and sustainable in the Power & Petroleum sector.
“I take this opportunity to invite Project Managers, Project Engineers, Instrumentation & Electrical Engineers, IoT Managers, End users, Engineering Consultants, EPC Contractors, System Integrators and IT executives to attend PPPA2023 to leverage and gain valuable insights on the Emerging technologies in Automation, says Upendra Joshi, Section President, ISA Maharashtra, and Vice President, Reliance Industries Ltd. “Let us all collaborate to make India an automation hub in the world by developing futuristic technologies that inspire industry to adapt the change, embrace innovation as a key driving force to gain a competitive advantage over peers in the world of Automation and create scalable and sustainable solutions that can be seamlessly integrated in the existing processes and systems. The Future begins here and the change starts here,” he adds.
Mr Subramaniam Sarma, Whole-time Director & Sr Executive VP, L&T, is the Chief Guest at PPPA 2023, and the Keynote Speaker is Vinayak Marathe, India Business Head, Phillips Townsend Associates Inc., Houston – USA.
“A recent white paper by published the World Economic Forum estimates the value at stake through digitisation in the oil and gas sector as USD 640 bn worth of potential benefits – value to customers USD 170 bn, lowering emissions USD 430 bn, reduction in water usage USD 30 bn, and productivity improvement USD 10 bn. The impact is estimated to be intensified to USD 2.5 trillion when constraints are relaxed futuristic technologies such as cognitive computing. Apart from the savings digitisation will improve the workplace safety, and minimise the human errors in all sectors of manufacturing,” says Mr Marathe.
Industry has seen the 4 revolutions and the 4th being a disruptive revolution as compared to the first 3 revolutions. This revolution is happening to improve the safety, productivity, reliability, reduce emission, and reduce water consumption and overall sustainability of the Oil exploration, Refining and the Petrochemical Industry. There are several organisations providing the IoT solutions for Smart Manufacturing. Quite often advanced solutions are discussed in the board room and released for execution; this is a top-down approach.
However, quite often it is observed that with a top-down approach these solutions do not deliver the expected outcome. Hence, it is very important to understand the ground reality before such solutions are initiated. Historical Sanitize data, organisation competency, process maturity, advance instrumentation, etc., are some of the key assessment areas before going for advanced solutions. Hence the bottom-up approach should be considered for the successful implementation of the advanced solutions.
“Digital transformation is a ‘change management’ and no transformation can be successful without 1) Vision 2) Skill 3) Value 4) Resources 5) Action plan. If the transformation fails or does not deliver the expected outcome, one of five elements is certainly missing. Any digital transformation, small or big, can never be expensive; if the organisation finds it expensive, then surely the vision and competency for executing it is missing,” Mr Marathe sums up.
PPPA 2023 is organised by ISA Maharashtra, which is a part of International Society of Automation, USA. The International Society of Automation (ISA) is a nonprofit professional association of engineers, technicians, and management engaged in industrial automation. As the globally trusted provider of foundational standards based technical resources for the profession, ISA strives to build a better world through automation.
Being a non-profit association, ISA differentiates itself at core from any other industry association for being selfless and dedicated in promoting the Automation Sector. PPPA 2023 is one such event aimed to bring the latest know-hows of the Automation Industry.
