Asia Pacific Elite Corp or APEC is one of the subsidiaries of TTGroup, one of Taiwan’s largest global machine tools groups that also includes Tongtai, Honor and Quick-tech – all based in Taiwan; France based PCI-SCEMM and Austria based Anger Machining GmbH – 6 leading brands. APEC specialises in producing 5-axis large scale high speed machining centres for over 15 years, with the distinction of producing the first linear motor machine in Taiwan, and has developed a full range of 5-axis machining centres that satisfy the demanding requirements of different industry sectors. Aerospace and automotive die & mould are the two main segments the company focuses on.
APEC especially pays attention to customers’ whole product life cost and efficiency. Offering the best “Total cost of ownership (TCO)” to customers is the core value of APEC. By analysing the processing demand of customers, APEC technical team can not only recommends the suitable equipment but also provides the complete turnkey solutions. “We have won repeat orders from many well-known enterprises all over the world and have built up solid business relationship with our customers, such as ThyssenKrupp, Nemark, and many subcontractors of Boeing, Airbus, GE, Rolls-Royce, etc.,” says Andrew Kung, Director, APEC.
APEC is the only Taiwanese machine tools builder to have entered the supply chain of Boeing and Airbus for wing spar, beam, and stringer manufacturing. It also counts major aerospace component vendors like GE and Safran among its customers for aero-engine casing production. “It is not easy to stay ahead in the machine tool industry,” says Kung. “From aluminium to titanium alloy to high-technology CFRP, we have the systems and technology to machine aerospace components precisely and efficiently,” he adds. In aerospace, the main segments of engine, wing and fuselage use different materials and hence the requirement in each case is different. The fact that the global aviation industry is projected to grow at a healthy rate over the next 20 years bodes well for the company that aspires to become Asia’s most valuable brand of large scale 5-axis machining centres.
(APEC is one of the machine tool manufacturers visited during the TMTS 2018 Preview Press Conference Programme. TMTS 2018 is scheduled from November 7th to November 11th, at Taichung High Speed Rail Zone, Taichung, Taiwan)
