Has the present Corona Virus strain caught the world unaware and unprepared ?

While development was being done keeping focus on risk analysis by measuring its impact due to change in inputs and output quality parameters none could have predicted the ultimate disruption in business models with umbrella impact on all parameters due to corona Virus. It has changed the overall thought process of all development models to make it more flexible and easily transformable to meet such challenges. This pandemic has created dent to all Input / output variables of every model and brought the full supply chain to nearly halt. It is almost five months has been passed since the world came to know its eruption and functional model, no one could even predict is future pace and / or lasting image even after it will start evading.

What are the implications for business in the near, medium and long term ?

No one knows, what will be the lasting effect of the corona virus on our economy, whether it will subside or keep spreading for long time. It will force companies to send employees work from home through telecommute. This will lead to loss of productivity and cancellations of various reviews by superiors / experts.

How can governments be better prepared to handle such pandemics in future ?

With the use of Artificial Intelligence and digital technology the medical science researchers are joining hand with technology for scientific breakthroughs to rapidly test the new vaccines underdevelopment and gather data to simulate its performance and longevity to protect human life without its negative side effect. Machine Learning technique is adopted to gather data and improve result of prediction in different climatic conditions, food habits, area people live and other vital factors.

High accuracy thermal scanners are available but are not used possible due to high costs. Would they be more effective ?

It is yet to be proven that the thermal scanner are the ultimate choice bu still in the present circumstances it gives lead to track the affected person if he is attacked few days back and body temperature increased from normal. There are various options is being developed by medical science to get the result of test samples in quickly in no time loss so that intermediately treatment can be started and save the life.
These thermal scanner can be used at a place limited to where tunneling movement of human being is there, such as railway station, airports, entry of malls, business complexes and closed market.

Now that businesses are getting used to the Work From Home culture, will this signal a paradigm shift ?

Digital Technology has made us possible to work from anywhere and manage it by tele / video conferencing, online chat with pears / customers and seamless transferring the data by use of block chain. Innovation plays a major role to bridge the gap between need to solution. Sometime these solutions are considered as the great invention of time for future business and it is used for other section of life. Leaders with foresight at this stage by taking an extra step are protecting everyone while demonstrating endurance and flexibility. The flexibility enables others to adopt a similar approach so that they can continue to perform task without distraction. It is a big transformation of our understanding / thought process to manage the business by remote working / work from home, for few IT, Engineering, and some customer driven products marketing except the factories where products are manufactured

Some analysts have suggested this crisis will boost automation and make a case for Lights Out manufacturing. Your comments ?

Modern technology such as Docusign can be used to avoid the spread of viruses to human-being through fingers touching, biometric signature entry, check-in at reception devices, exchange of pens, and countertops at the registration desk at reception of hotels. Companies have been busy in development of Industrial productivity through automation, robotics, and artificial intelligence, but none could have anticipated the sudden disruption due to corona pandemic. Industry caught unaware to predict this bad impact on business. Most of the manufacturing plants are either stopped or running at very low capacity. This bad impact on business will provoke manufacturer to adopt more automatic plants and use the existing manpower for development work. For improved automation current manpower is the critical asset those who can guide the experts to produce highly efficient and hand free machines operation, product handling, packing and storage. .

What are the lessons from this crisis ?

1. Complacent approach is a bigger challenge to deal with that nothing better can be done or in other words our manufacturing process is immune to any negative input which can stop our production.
2. We have seen the pandemic affected more on those countries where people disobey the general guidelines given by Govt. . We also notices that not only more loss of human life but we might have lost many experts (good doctors, scientist, technicians, nurses, and many more).
3. Countries need to see that while we are going towards a global family but keeping ourselves protected when the negative effect start reaching to our national boundary.

#April 2020 Covid Special

To say the world is passing through trying times is to state the obvious. Also evident is the fact that for too long the world has been ignoring the warning signs of environmental degradation fuelled by human excesses and greed. But this is no time for ifs and buts, nor recrimination. Instead, the crisis should be used as an opportunity to make the required course correction to make the world a safer place for all living beings, and the ecological balance, restored. Industrial Automation invited a cross section of industry leaders to offer their views and possible course of action as a way forward from this situation, even as governments across the world and the people are trying to make sense from the still evolving scenario.
