While most companies are today talking of Digital Transformation, do all of them have effective strategies in place for implementation?
Digital Transformation is nothing but the empowerment to the processes to perform with better productivity. Every organisation has some vision and mission with individual targets in terms of market capturing, go to market, market share, revenue achievement, etc., to achieve the said elements they need to move faster compare to competition. In terms of strategies, it depends on companies why, how much and how fast they want to induct this into their daily activities for achieving their targeted milestones
What are the impediments in the process of Digital Transformation in the Indian context?
Is RoI the key concern?
Digital Transformation is an opportunity and challenge too. In any organisation that is adapting any process or culture to achieve the goals, a high importance is given to technology and the widespread use of it.
It’s not a success story with every organisation and there were adverse results also if the companies are not prepared for the transition period and the effects of digitisation on profits and opportunities
RoI is a key concern specifically in the Indian context as we have tough industrial policies, which bring dramatic changes and rewire the efforts taken by the management so they have less bandwidth to take any risks.
As one of the main drivers of the economy, is the SME sector ready for this transformation?
Transformation is turn around moment for any SME. A small SME with the help of transformation can be a larger and wider organisation and this sector is completely ready for any such changes. The vision and mission of SMEs are enabling them to accept such transformations.
How should the SMEs prepare for Digital Transformation?
As mentioned earlier the vision and mission of SMEs are enabling them to accept such transformations and a big pool of companies is available which have customised solutions. Today organisations like Deloitte, KPMG and various consulting firms have come with various models which ensure the business remains competitive into the future, constantly finding new efficiencies and reducing costs further. With the help of Digital Transformation SMEs can introduce new logistical and administrative business processes that underpin day-to-day operations more efficient – thereby enabling the business to be more competitive.
Are privacy and cybersecurity concerns regarding the cloud exaggerated?
Cloud is the future and any organisation has to be future ready. In India still we have not reached to acceptance level of cloud especially when it comes to privacy and security. It will take some more time for Cloud Acceptability and the process has started. Recently the Maharashtra government has come up with a new cloud policy and trying to migrate all information of their own cloud in collaboration with various cloud platforms like Google, Amazon and Microsoft.
