Electra Cloud now available on Onshapes app store to offer end-to-end solutions including 3D, electrical, pneumatic hydraulics, and soon P&ID.
Ipoh, Malaysia, October 20, 2020 – Radica Software, the developer of cloud-based electrical computer-aided design software (ECAD), has announced that it has partnered with Onshape Inc. Both companies have agreed to integrate their technologies to provide end-to-end drawing solutions for engineers around the globe. The integration makes it easy and efficient for engineers to complete product designs using 3D CAD software together with Electra Cloud’s 2D electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic drawings, in real-time, all within a single online platform on Onshape. This offering is already available, and users can now subscribe to Electra Cloud directly from Onshape’s app store.
Thomas Yip, CEO of Radica Software said, “We are thrilled to have collaborated with Onshape, especially when we both share the same values by providing fully cloud-based CAD solutions that will greatly benefit users and boost their productivity.”
Joe Dunne, Head of Developer Relations from Onshape said, “Electra Cloud offers a perfect complement to Onshape. Our customers need the ability to add 2D schematics, logic diagrams, and many other use cases that Electra handles very well. Using Electra Cloud, our customers will now be able to create and share smart schematics directly in their Onshape documents.”
Users may also share parts, designs, and symbols so they can be reused throughout the entire company. This eliminates tedious repetitive tasks and frees up engineers’ time so they can focus on important priorities to improve bottom line.
Yip explained, “The world is seeing a rise in remote working due to the Covid-19 pandemic. So, it is crucial for workforces to be equipped with smart tools that designing project team members can use simultaneously regardless of their locations. This is where the partnership with Onshape plays a role during this tough time -- making real-time collaborative work possible as well as it helps reduce errors and rework burdens for users.”
