Ms Renuka Gera appointed Director – Industrial Systems & Products at BHEL

Ms Renuka Gera is the first woman employee of BHEL to reach the level of Director.
New Delhi, December 2, 2020 – Navaratna PSU Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has appointed Ms Renuka Gera as Director – Industrial Systems & Products on Tuesday, December 1, 2020. Ms Renuka Gera replaced S Balakrishnan, who ceased to be the Director on the Board of BHEL on attaining the age of superannuation on November 30, 2020, according to BHEL.
On her appointment as Director on the Board of BHEL Ms Gera, 57, has assumed charge as Director (Industrial Systems & Products) of the Public Sector Engineering and Manufacturing Enterprise. Significantly, she is the first woman employee of BHEL to reach the level of Director.
Ms Gera started her career with BHEL as an Engineer Trainee in the company's Transmission Business Group in 1984 and completed her graduation from Delhi College of Engineering in Electronics and Communication engineering. She has more than 36 years of hands-on experience in several areas of the industry sector. Gera had headed verticals such as Marketing, Engineering, Business Development, HR, Contract & Project Management, Administration, Planning, Finance and Legal, apart from serving in BHEL’s Bhopal manufacturing unit for close to five years. She has also been the Project Manager of one of the largest HVDC multi-terminal projects in India.
