Section 1: Personal Journey and Vision

With 10.8 years of experience, currently serving as Senior Director at Aiden AI, what inspired you to specialise in AI and automation?

It's interesting, I don't think I consciously chose AI and automation as much as it chose me. Throughout my career, I've always been driven to work with clients to design solutions that drive efficiency and effectiveness for their end users. At Aiden AI, I saw firsthand how AI and automation could accelerate the pace of innovation and enable our clients with unique solutions. It's not just about automating mundane tasks, it's about empowering people to be more creative, strategic, and ultimately, more human in their work. That's what truly excites me about this field – the ability to unlock human potential by leveraging technology.

As a leader in technology, what principles guide your approach to driving operational efficiencies and fostering innovation within your teams?

I believe operational efficiency and innovation are two sides of the same coin. I foster this by building teams that are empowered to think critically and creatively. We streamline processes, communicate clearly, and make data-driven decisions, while also cultivating a culture of curiosity, diversity, and collaboration. This allows us to execute with discipline while exploring new possibilities. To encourage this, we hold frequent brainstorming sessions, maintain open communication, and hold each other accountable to our shared goals.

Section 2: Achievements and Contributions

You’ve implemented innovative AI-driven solutions that resulted in operational efficiencies and cost savings. Could you share a project or initiative that stands out in your career?

Having led numerous AI-driven transformations, it's become second nature for me to seek out how AI can optimise any solution. One project that holds a special place in my memory is a predictive fraud system we built back in 2017.

This was my first foray into the world of AI implementation, and its impact was truly remarkable. We were able to identify fraudulent claims upfront with a high degree of accuracy, saving the company millions in losses and countless hours of investigation. What made this project particularly exciting was witnessing firsthand the power of AI to not only improve efficiency but also simplify ways of working for the end users.

Your strategic thinking has contributed to revenue growth and market expansion at Aiden AI. What were some challenges you faced in achieving this, and how did you overcome them?

Our journey at Aiden AI has been a thrilling roller coaster ride! One of our biggest hurdles was overcoming that 'who are you?' skepticism, especially when competing with established industry giants. Our approach to overcome this challenge has been to:

1. Identify our unique value proposition and differentiator compared to the competition

2. Form a core team that is agile, nimble and has team members that is a healthy mix of industry knowledge and technical prowess, and

3. Enable the team to drive solutions for clients in a fail fast approach where clients can touch and feel the solution during the sales cycle itself thereby building confidence.

As an advocate for gender diversity, how have your mentorship programs empowered young women in technology to advance their careers?

As a woman navigating the tech world, I'm passionate about empowering the next generation of female leaders by creating a supportive community where they can connect, share experiences, and thrive. I strive to be a mentor, confidante, and role model, guiding them through the challenges and celebrating their triumphs. By fostering genuine connections, sharing my own journey, and demonstrating that success is possible, I aim to inspire these young women to reach their full potential and become future leaders in technology.

Building strong client relationships has been a cornerstone of your success. What strategies do you use to ensure trust and long-term partnerships with your clients?

I believe building strong client relationships boils down to three key principles: sincerity, exceeding expectations, and consistent dedication.

Sincerity forms the foundation – clients can sense when you genuinely care about their success. It's about actively listening to their needs, understanding their challenges, and being transparent in your communication. Going above and beyond means consistently exceeding their expectations.

This could involve delivering ahead of schedule, providing proactive solutions, or offering unexpected value-adds. These 'tiny delights,' as I like to call them, demonstrate your commitment and build goodwill.

Finally, it's about consistent dedication. Building trust takes time and consistent effort. It's about showing up for your clients, being reliable, and nurturing the relationship over the long term. When you consistently deliver on these principles, clients begin to see you as an extension of their own team, fostering a true partnership built on trust and mutual success.

Section 3: Perspectives and Recognition

With a focus on fostering a culture of excellence, what has been the most rewarding aspect of mentoring and coaching team members?

The most rewarding aspect of mentoring is witnessing the transformative journeys of my team members. It's incredibly fulfilling to see someone I've mentored blossom and achieve their full potential. Whether it's receiving client praise, exceeding performance goals, or earning industry recognition, their success becomes a shared victory. Knowing that I played a role in their growth, that I helped them unlock their talents and become the best versions of themselves, fills me with immense pride and gratitude. It's a privilege to contribute to their development and to witness their positive impact on the world.

As someone who advocates for gender diversity and inclusion, what advice would you give to organisations aiming to create a more inclusive workplace culture?

To create a truly inclusive workplace, organisations need to embrace authenticity, ensure equitable opportunities, and foster a sense of belonging. Encourage employees to bring their whole selves to work and celebrate differences. Implement blind recruitment, mentorship programs, and address systemic barriers. Create resource groups and communities for underrepresented individuals to connect and support each other. By valuing every individual, organisations can unlock their full potential and create a workplace where everyone feels valued and respected.

Extras: Reflections

What is your opinion on the role of Industrial Automation Magazine in showcasing industry trends and empowering women in technology and automation?

I think Industrial Automation Magazine plays a crucial role in showcasing industry trends and empowering women in technology and automation. By featuring the stories and achievements of women in these fields, the magazine provides much needed visibility and challenges the outdated notion that these are male-dominated domains.

This representation is incredibly important, especially for young women who may not have access to many role models in their immediate circles. Seeing women successfully navigating and leading in technology and automation can inspire them to pursue their own passions and careers in these fields. Furthermore, by highlighting the diversity of talent and perspectives in these industries, the magazine can encourage more women to consider careers in technology and automation, ultimately leading to a more inclusive and innovative workforce.

What are the three words that best describe how it feels to be a finalist in the

Women in Tech 2025 competition?

Grateful. Humbled. Honoured.

Grateful for the incredible journey and the people who've championed me along the way, from my entire family and mentors to my amazing support network. Humbled to be recognised among such inspiring women in technology. And honoured by the opportunity to pave the way for a more inclusive and diverse tech world.
